Exterior, one of the Deluxe Lodges, Auchrannie Resort

There are lots of options when it comes to deciding where to stay on Arran - from private B&Bs, to campsites, to hotels. As we were travelling in a larger group, we rented one of the Deluxe Lodges at the Auchrannie Resort in Brodick.

When you arrive off the ferry, if you aren't bringing a car with you, the Auchrannie Resort shuttle bus will pick you up from Brodick Harbour and drive you to the hotel.

The Lodges are absolutely gorgeous, modern and so spacious! Ours was a three bedroom, three bathroom lodge with an open plan living room and kitchen:

Master bedroom, with en-suite bathroom
Beds can be pushed together or left apart

Kitchen with all the utensils you will need for your stay

Cozy living room with plenty of seating space, and a pull out sofa (Lodge can sleep 8 people that way)

The kitchen comes fully stocked with a kettle, toaster, dishwasher, pots, pans and utensils. With two Co-ops in nearby Brodick (the smaller Co-op is located here, closer to Auchrannie Resort), buying groceries for self-catering is easy.

Wifi is available in each lodge, with a tv and sound system in the living room - all the comforts of home in such a stunning setting, you'll never want to leave!

A bottle of wine and a small wheel of Arran cheese is left in the lodge for you upon arrival, which is a really lovely touch. There's also a washing machine and drying rack for your clothes, should you need them.

The grounds of the Resort are expansive and peaceful. It's such a pretty drive up to the Lodges.

And this was the view from our balcony, complete with babbling brook!

There's a pool with a sauna and steam room on the property, free to use when staying at the Resort. It's a great way to relax, or keep the kids busy for a few hours.

If you fancy a bit of pampering during your stay, why not stop by the Auchrannie Spa? I didn't get to experience the spa myself on this trip, but I heard so many great things about the ASPA that I will definitely book in for a treatment on my next visit! Check out the ASPA website, (scroll down and click on the ASPA Brochure), for their full list of treatments.

The walk down Auchrannie Road to Brodick is so lovely. Flowers bloom on each side of the path, cottages are tucked away under leafy arches, ancient trees shoot skyward, and the sound of the babbling brook follows you most of the way down. There are also several shops located at the entrance to the road, selling jewellery and antiques.

But if, like us, you walk back from the nearby Ormidale Hotel & Pub in the evening, bring a flashlight! The first half of the road is almost pitch black at night ;D

The Lodges at Auchrannie Resort are amazing - they're the perfect place to relax and recharge. If you're interested in booking a Lodge for your next mini-break or holiday, click here. Enter 1 room, then the desired number of guests (max 8 people). Tip: the Lodges are very popular, so you may need to book a couple of months in advance.

I personally haven't stayed in the hotel at this Resort, so I can't comment on the rooms or the interior of the hotel. But if you have, tweet me and let me know your thoughts on the hotel!

Arran is a spectacular island, with so much to see and discover. It's as beautiful on the sunny days as it is on the misty ones. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Happy Travels!!!
